W Particles

Two subatomic particles, (W+ and W-), discovered in experiments using powerful particle accelerators (c1983). Together with the electrically neutral Z particle, are the carriers of the electroweak force. It is involved in all electric-charge-changing weak processes.

Also called a W Boson.
