Wire Brush

A brush with metal bristles used to remove loose material from metal surfaces.

In the case of stainless steel it is best to use a stainless steel wire brush to avoid contamination.


A brass wire bristle brush should be used on softer surfaces.

A brass brush can be used in potentially flammable environments where non-sparking tools are required.

A rotary wire brush may be used in an electric drill.

If the wire brush is being used in a pillar drill or on a fixed spindle then it is advisable to wear a tough pair of gloves to protect your hands.
