Water Gas

A fuel gas used in industrial synthesis of organic chemicals, and in welding, glassmaking, and other high-temperature industrial applications. Mixture of Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide. Made by passing alternatively steam and a little air through a bed of red hot coal or coke maintained at around 900 to 1000°C.
