The springs, shock absorbers and linkages that suspend a vehicle′s frame, body, engine, and drivetrain above its wheels.
- Hotchkiss Suspension - A live-axle rear suspension in which leaf springs handle both the axle's springing and its location.
- MacPherson Strut - Suspension system which uses a lower control arm and a damper/strut which is designed to take bending loads. When used on the rear suspension this is known as a Chapman Strut.
The point at which the suspension reaches its designed limits of travel, causing it to contact stops built into the suspension or the chassis.
