Varnish
A resin in solution. Dissolved in oil, alcohol, or a number of volatile liquids, applied to wood to provide a hard, glossy, protective, film.
- Oil based varnish
- Varnishes where the resins are dissolved in linseed and/or other oils.
Spirit based varnish- Consist of resins dissolved in turpentine or alcohol.
