Torque Converter

A fluid coupling used in automatic transmissions to transmit power from the engine to the wheels.

Lockup Torque Converter

A torque converter fitted with a lockup clutch that can be engaged to eliminate the slip between the torque converter′s input and output. This reduces the losses between input and output and hence improves fuel efficiency and performance.

Torque Converter Lock-up Clutch

An automatically engaged clutch in a lock-up torque converter which prevents slipping losses.
