Tokamak

The leading magnetic confinement fusion concept named after a Russian word for toroidally (or doughnut) shaped magnetic field. The field the long way around the torus is the toroidal field and is the main confining field for the particles. The toroidal field is produced from a set of poloidally constructed electromagnets.
