Stribeck Curve
This relates friction between load-bearing surfaces as a function of relative oil film thickness and lubrication regime. Relative oil film thickness is the ratio of film thickness to surface roughness. The thicker the film relative to surface roughness indicates a reduced likelihood of contact by surface asperities.
