Radio Frequency Interference (RFI)
This is unwanted Electromagnetic Emissions in the radio reception bands (LW, MW and FM).
This is perceived as:
- Poor radio reception - the radio is unable to detect the required radio station as the signal strength is reduced.
- Distortion - the audio is distorted and whistles are heard over the radio station signal.
- Transients - pops and thumps in the audio signal, often caused by switches and solenoids.
