Mean Piston Speed

The average speed of the piston in the cylinder bore.

Where

vmean = mean piston speed [ms-1]
S = piston stroke [m]
N = engine speed [rpm]

Note: the piston stroke is normally given in mm. The value in mm needs to be divided by 1000 to convert it to m.

This gives:
