Malus' Law

Named after Etienne Louis Malus (17th Century).

Malus' law defines the transmitted intensity through 2 polarisers with an angle θ between the transmission directions of said polarisers.

The maximum transmission occurs when θ = 0 and is a minimised when θ = 90 degrees.
