Internet Protocol Address

A unique number assigned to any computer connected to the internet.

This is a 32-bit identifier for a specific TCP/IP host computer on a network, written in dotted decimal form, such as 207.234.211.232, with each of the four fields assigned 255 values, organized into hierarchical classes.
