Hippocrates (460-377BC)

The most celebrated physician of antiquity. He believed that "the four fluids or humours of the body (blood, phlegm, yellow bile and black bile) are the primary seats of disease." But, it is the ethics of Hippocrates to which, for many years, the medical doctor subscribed by the taking of the Hippocrates Oath.

Famous Quotes:
"There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the latter ignorance."
