Gravitational Potential Energy
The work done by the force of gravity when an object falls from a particular point in space to the location assigned the value of zero.
- The energy a body possesses based on it's height above a reference surface may be calculated from:

- PE = potential energy [J]
- m = mass [kg]
- g = acceleration due to gravity [ms-2]
- h = height above reference surface [m]
- m = mass [kg]
