Fulcrum

The support on which a lever turns. Sometimes referred to as the Pivot Point.

Pliers are an example of a first class lever - where the Fulcrum lies between the load and the applied force.

The wheelbarrow is an example of a second class lever - where the Fulcrum lies at one end of the lever and the applied force at the other.
