Permanent and large magnetizations found in some metals (e.g., Fe, Ni, and Co), which result from the parallel alignments of neighboring magnetic moments.

Ferromagnetic materials exhibit magnetism even in the absence of an external magnetic field. Ferromagnetic materials contain regions where many paramagnetic atoms or ions have magnetic moments that are aligned in the same direction.


A volume region of a ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic material in which all atomic or ionic magnetic moments are aligned in the same direction.
