A passive electric component used to suppress high frequency noise in electronic circuits, employing the mechanism of high dissipation of high frequency currents in a ferrite to give high frequency noise suppression.

The Plasma TV (Samsung) kept getting interference lines and would make a crackling sound. Fitting a Ferrite Bead to the TV mains cable solved this problem.
As can be seen from the image on the right the mains cable goes through the ferrite bead, loops and then goes back through the bead a second time.
