A pipe or closed conduit made of sheet metal, fibreglass board, or other suitable material used for conducting air to and from an air handling unit.

The design of a duct is crucial if we want to reduce the noise, reduce the back pressure and get a good flow distribution both through the duct and evenly even exit of air.

Any rapid changes in direction, narrowing or obstructions can cause unnecessary increases in backpressure and noise. Any noise generated in the duct may propagate through the fluid and out through openings or may travel through the structure resulting in radiated noise or vibration.
