Dodd Bars

A secondary alignment method. Consists of two bars that are similar in configuration to reverse dial indicator bars.

These bars are not mounted on the shaft, they are mounted to the machine. Each bar is fitted with a proximity probe and it corresponds to a block on the other bar. As the machines move to their on-line condition the gap between the proximity probe and the metal block changes.
