dBu

A logarithmic unit of power, similar to dB m but computed from voltage measurements.

The reference level is 0.775 volts, the voltage which generates a power of 1 milliwatt across a circuit having an impedance of 600 ohms.

A voltage of V volts corresponds to a power of 20log10(V/0.775) dB u.
