Computer Aided Design
Usually applied to that part of CAE which has to do with the drawing or physical layout steps of engineering design.
Feature-based CAD/CAM
Construction methodology. It means the model is constructed using 3-D objects (features), as opposed to individual lines, arcs, splines and surfaces.
Parametric-based CAD/CAM
Model features can be driven by rules or parameters set up by the user. They can be dimensions, geometric constraints, equations and design tables.
