Coaxial Cable

A round cable with a central conductor and screening around with a insulating medium between.

Used in RF transmission.

A coaxial cable is constant-impedance unbalanced transmission line.

The characteristic impedance is given by:
where
Zc = characteristic impedance [Ω]
μ = μ0μr = permeability
ε = ε0εr = permittivity
a = radius of inner conductor
b = radius of outer conductor
