Bunsen, Robert Wilhelm (1811-1899)

German chemist; helped to develop the spectroscope.

1855 Introduced the Bunsen burner that was developed by his laboratory assistant, Peter Desaga.

1860 discovered the element caesium.

1861 Discovered the element rubidium.
