Bremsstrahlung

X-rays emitted when a charged particle (such as an electron) is decelerated by passing through matter. The word bremsstrahlung is German for "braking radiation".

where
W = Energy radiated
ω = Angular frequency
= Lorentz factor
Ze = ionic charge
ε0 = permittivity of free space
c = speed of light
m = electronic mass
b = distance of closest approach, collision parameter
ν = electron velocity
Κi = modified bessel functions of order i

The bremsstrahlung energy varies from 0 to the energy of the electron.
