Biot-Savart Law

The magnetic flux density at a point P which is a distance r from a very short length of a conductor carrying a current I is given by:
where
= magnetic flux density [tesla]
= short length of conductor [m]
θ = angle between the short length and the line joining it to P [radians]
r = distance from the short length to P [m]
I = current [A]
Using the right hand as shown in the diagram with the thumb pointing in the direction of the current in the wire the fingers point in the direction of the magnetic lines of force.
