Anti Lift Suspension

Perhaps more commonly known as Anti Dive Suspension.

Rear suspension kinematic characteristic which reduces the amount of pitch under braking forces.

Where


Fbrake = Force due to acceleration [N]
m = Vehicle mass [kg]
a = acceleration due to braking [ms-2]

Dimensions as given in figure.

When the centre of gravity of the vehicle is not at exactly the same location as the pitch centre then any longitudinal accleration will result in a pitch rotation of the vehicle.

Under acceleration the vehicle will squat down at the rear end. An Anti Squat Suspension will be designed to limit this effect.
