The magnetomotive force developed by 1 ampere of current flowing through a coil of one turn.

The field-generating ability is called magnetomotive force and is equal to the product of the current and the number of turns of wire in the coil.

One ampere turn equals 4π/10 = 1.256637 gilberts (Gb).
