Acenaphthene Found in petroleum residues. It is used as a dye intermediate, in manufacturing plastics, and as an insecticide and fungicide. It is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon consisting of naphthalene with an ethylene bridge connecting positions 1 and 8.
