Accumulator

A register within a microprocessor that is the source or destination of data for machine instructions.

Electronics: A device by which energy or power can be stored, such as the cylinder or tank for storing water for hydraulic elevators, the secondary or a storage battery used for storing the energy of electrical charges, etc.
